This is the first bush walks in the park, situated about 800m in, and give a great view of some large Rimu, Kahikatea/while pine and other native trees
This example of Tree ferns is a common sight in the bush.
The Kahikatea, likes "wet feet" and is the tallest tree growing in New Zealand reaching a hight of up to 60 meters and can live up to 500 years.
