This is the first bush walks in the park, situated about 800m in, and give a great view of some large Rimu, Kahikatea/while pine and other native trees

5 Tree Ferns

This example of Tree ferns is a common sight in the bush.

6 Kahikatea/white pine

The Kahikatea, likes "wet feet" and is the tallest tree growing in New Zealand reaching a hight of up to 60 meters and can live up to 500 years.

7 Rimu Tree

The trunk of the Rimu Tree. When seen in conjunction with the view of the tree from a distance gives an idea of its size.

8 Rimu Tree

The view of this tree,from about 100m below give some idea of it majestic beauty.
